Cheshire Cat and Wonderland :: My favorite ride
this week is Cheshire Cat - a nice long pull up the Sea to Sky
highway to Cat lake, enter and cross parking lot, go right of
the outhouse, down a little hill to the wooden bridge but don't
cross it. Instead go left, then CROSS UNDER, pass through the
campsite, and onto the trail. From there it's clear where to go.
You'll end up popping out onto the highway just before the bridge
over ther Cheekye River. Follow the highway down to the Alice
Lake spur road (last year's GearJammer start line), take that
in and across the main Alice Lake Road (south side, up slightly)
you'll see the trailhead to Wonderland. Follow Wonderland (whoopeee)
until another gravel road, to right then left and back into Wonderland.
Eventually you'll come out onto the highway. If you cross, and
go up a bit, you will enter the Lower Dump Trails and can carry
on to the High School. Great ride!

Dump Trails, Cheekye Fan, Ray's Trail :: By
whatever name, this area in Brackendale offers a well-maintained
trail network. You will be treated to some beautiful forest, brilliant
emerald greens, strange sounding coodle birds, and lots of roots,
rocks, and logs. The climbs are not steep, but they are technical.
The descents are not steep, but they are technical. An hour or
two here and your riding skills will definitely have gone up a
notch. The attached maps outline the 2006 Teen Test of Metal Course
(provided by Jim Douglas) - following the route will give you
a good feel for the area. JPEG

Squamish Test of Metal MAPS :: A challenging
67 kilometers through single-track, road, fsr, up and down. First
half will take recreational riders 3-4 hours. Second half, expect
3-5 hours. Easy outs for those needing to cut things short.

Alice Lake Loop : The other day I passed a couple
looking for the Alice Lake Loop. They had taken a wrong turn and
were about to discover the top of Thunderbird. Here, then, is
a good map, from a 2004 Twoonie, of the Alice Lake Loop. Expect
to be riding two hours, although grey lines show gravel roads
that can help you shorten the loop significantly. Click

SORCA Toonie MAPS :: SORCA Toonie
Races are typically intermediate courses with lots of climbing
as well as descent. Leaders finish in under an hour, and most
riders are done in less than 1.5 hours. A season of race course
maps would give anyone a great introduction to all the trail areas

Gutsploder.com :: Give a guy
a GPS and a web site and of course he's gonna map trails. Under
Who? it says "Who cares" - so no credits here. The maps
are a bit rudimentary but covered in little flags and guess what.
Click on the flags and you get a photo of that part of the trail.
Mystery man promises that maps will have new trails added as they
are ridden. Cool. The site itself has some kind of clunky programming
- not sure what - and it's hard to get into. Trails featured are
The Woodlot (Maple Ridge), Seymour, Burke Mt., Eagle Mt., Sumas
Mt, and Fromme. CLICK
