Details:

• Submit up to 3 poems, any kind (rhyme, unrhymed, form, or free)
• Subject of poem must be mountain biking, or the Test of Metal, or the mountain biking experience.

Two Categories
• Open - must be eligible for entry in the Test of Metal
• Under 14

Submit poems in Word or Txt or pasted in the body of an email.
Include NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE #, EMAIL ADDRESS and short bio (feel free to be creative with this ... ) on the cover page. Include age if entering the Under 14 category.

Only poems previously unpublished in print, please. We will accept poems that have been published online, but please indicate the name of the online journal.

Winners Announced May 13, Mothers Day.

Poem & biography of winning poet will be featured on Squamish Mountain Bike and winning poems may be published in Test of Metal related print material, at the discretion of Squamish Mountain Bike and Goodwin Studios during the 2007 Test of Metal season only.

Poets retain all rights to their work.

The Judge:

Judging will be done primarily by Jude Goodwin, with the help of members of the Squamish Writers Group if needed.

Jude Goodwin’s poems can be read in print journals including Cider Press Review, Burnside Review, and Comstock Review, as well as various online journals. They have won and placed well in the IBPC: New Poetry Voices competition, were shortlisted in the CBC Radio Literary Awards, and recently received Honorable Mention in the Jessie Bryce Niles Chapbook Competition.
