Hello everyone
I just wanted to fill you all in on the latest regarding the
Squamish BMX Racing Club & Track project.
As of today, the track has been cleared of debris and roughly
levelled thanks to Mike Beaubien of Digasaurus Contractors who
provided the excavator and operator Dennis Burns for the week
and Dave McCrae of Triack Resources who provided the biggest debris
removal truck I’ve every seen! These guys have blown me
away with the level of their support for this project.
We expect to finish the final levelling and grading this coming
week IF we can obtain the use of a small bulldozer (less than
a “CAT D5” size) and operator for less than a days
work. Contact me if you have any contacts that could help with
this please.
We have secured the equipment required for a timing gate and
have welders awaiting materials to get started in the very near
future. As well our storage shed/start ramp, utilizing a used
20 ft overseas shipping container purchase is to be finalized
this week as well. We are looking for assistance in locating a
truck and flat-deck trailer to pick it up in Delta and deliver
it to the track site and hopefully save us the $500 transport
fee. Again, any contacts or assistance in this would be appreciated
as well.
Once the site is prepped it, the track building part is going
to happen very quickly. Moving our soil and sculpting the race
course will require a few pieces of machinery already in place,
but good old fashioned volunteers with shovels and rakes will
be needed. Stay tuned for the call for help.
In closing, we need:
• Bulldozer and operator for 1 day
• Truck and driver capable of transporting a 20 ft shipping
container
Any assistance or tips will be appreciated, Call me anytime to
talk.
